Máret Ánne Sara, or Mikkol Ivvara Jovsseha Ivvara Máret Ánne, as she would be presented in the ancient Sami way, is a Sámi artist with a personal, unique and contemporary artistic style. She is educated both within journalism and arts. As chief editor and indigenous journalist, she has covered indigenous issues around the world, while her creative mind has observed and picked up artistic influences internationally. Máret Ánne comes from a traditional reindeerherding family in the core of Sápmi. She has studied art/illustration in england, and product production in Kautokeino, where she currently lives and works. Máret Ánne has designed imagery for Sámi artist and fashiondesigners. She is at heart an observer, analyst and storyteller, both in words and images. She is a published novel writer and has exibited and sold visual art since 2003.
