Guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and composer Tore Bruvoll (b. 1978) has been part of the flourishing Norwegian folk scene for the last decade.
Having worked closely with many of the most acclaimed folk artists in Norway he´s made a name for himself as one of the most innovative young folk musicians of today´s folk scene with a strong, musical signature.
Best known for his work as founding member of folk band Hekla Stålstrenga and the duo Bruvoll/Halvorsen.
He´s also a regular member of acclaimed international folk-supergroup The String Sisters and has an ongoing collaboration with norwegian folk singer extraordinaire, Sondre Bratland.
Besides touring Norway, Sweden, Germany, Belgium and Ireland, Bruvoll also has performed at acclaimed festivals such as Rudolstadt Folk&Tanz Festival (DE), Rainforest Worldmusic Festival (MY), Tatihou Festival (F), Folk Alliance (US), Northern Streams (GB), Førde Internatinal Folk Festival (N), Odense Folk Fest (DK), Telemarkfestival (N), Kongsberg jazzfestival (N), Vossajazz (N), Osafestivalen (N), Festspillene i Nordnorge (N) and the EBU Folkfestival (DE)
As well as releases with his own bands, he´s featured on a number of records for other artists.
During the last few years he has also established a reputation for composing music for both theatre and film.
